About Roger Iker

Born in Fort Worth, Roger Iker experiences daily the adjectives “Where the west begins” and “Cowtown”. His most recent works may be viewed in the Fort Worth historical stockyards where he is  currently creating a series of murals on main street.

After graduating from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1970, Roger Iker has studied art under a number of tutors but perhaps the best known in this area are Texas State Artist Renne Hughes of Fort worth, and nationally recognized portrait artist Ramon Froman of  Dallas via New York City.

Roger Iker has also had national exposure through his connection with the Country Store Gallery of Austin, Texas who have placed his work in the collections of many prominent politicians and great men of Texas such as Governor Dolph Briscoe and former University of Texas football coach Darrell Royal.

Roger Iker's work can be seen currently at Adobe Art Gallery in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
