About Mark

 Growing up in west Texas, naturally western art
and culture was everywhere and it was a great
influence on me. As a young teenager (during the
late '60's) Pop Art exploded into mainstream
advertising and it too, was everywhere, and I
absorbed the psychedelia of Peter Max, Warhol's
soup cans, and Liechtenstein's comic book
imagery.

Today, I blend Pop Art techniques with familiar
symbols and elements of western icons to create
truly unique paintings that engage the viewer and
challenges one's concept of western art.
1985. . . Frustrated by color-blindness, quit painting and
turned to Black & White photography.
