Giclee

Detail

Adobe Western Art Gallery is proud to present a high-quality reproduction Giclee of The John Arrowsmith, 1841 Republic of Texas Pocket Map. This
map is printed on the highest quality of paper and is rich in detail. This wonderful map can be printed in just about any size you wish. The map is an
important part of Texas history and is covered with the hand written notes of
William Bolleart, an Englishman and early explorer who spent two years
surveying Texas while preparing a report for the British Admiralty. Notes such as, "Deep ravine, bad water, no timber," and "Left wagons in Palo Duro,"
can be found written all over the map. These are firsthand accounts of the Texas landscape when it was pristine and unspoiled. This map is a terrific conversation piece and will be the focal point of any room. The colors are rich and vibrant and the printing is sharp and clear. You can find cheaper versions of this map all over the web, but you will not find one of this quality anyplace except here. We have spared no expense in producing the finest quality Giclee that is guaranteed to last a minimum of 25 years with proper care.

We have three maps in stock in the 34X45 size. Price is $650

A Word About Texas Western Art:

Texas has long been a magnet to artists enamored of its varied landscapes, Western culture, and rustic simplicity. The Lone Star State has produced some of the most sought after Western artists in the world, from Oak Cliff’s Frank Reaugh and his longhorns standing majestically on vistas; to San Antonio’s Julian Onderdonk and his fascination with bluebonnets; to the murals and panoramas of Dallas’ Olin Travis.

Frank Reaugh  "The Herd"

Some of the most notable artists connected to Texas were non-natives attracted by the Old West's history, people, and terrain. Charles Russell (Missouri) and Frederick Remington (New York) spent years developing their reputations as premier painters of the Old West and became highly regarded in Texas despite having never worked here. Countless Europeans traveled here as well during the 19th and 20th centuries to paint depictions of the great American West.

Julian Onderdonk "Blue Bonnets"

Texas’ captivating art history has spawned an impressive array of contemporary artists and sculptors to carry on these traditions. The best of the best are found at Adobe Western Art Gallery, located in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. Adobe Western Art Gallery carries an impressive selection of both traditional and contemporary art and sculpture. The phenomenal collection of artists who sell their works at Adobe include those listed above.
